Blaze
Blaze is my proudest and saddest success story in one. He was the very first horse that I rehabbed and adopted out to a new home. He came to us at only 2-3 months old, just skin and bones, afraid of everyone and everything. We gave him lots of love, food and attention. One day when I was leaving his pen, after not being able to touch him as usual, I stopped at the gate and he nosed me. From that day on he followed me like I was his mom. He grew like a weed, he learned so quickly. He was the sweetest little colt. When he was 18 months old it was time for him to move on to his new home. He was adopted by a wonderful lady in Kilgore TX. We delivered him and I cried all the way to Dallas. But I still receive updates, he has passed his Parelli classes with flying colors and could not be happier.
When times are hard and money gets tight I remember Blaze and all the others we have helped, even if sometimes it is just one horse at a time, and I remember why it is all worth it. Every one of these magnificent animals needs a second chance.
