Emily
Emily came up from an El Paso auction with Mia and Missy. They were roped coming across the border from Mexico by a man that works for the USDA and sent to auction in El Paso where there next stop would have been back across the border and slaughtered had Reillys Ranch not intervened.
Emily is a beautiful horse, she looks to be Azteca. She moves very well. She has been handled, her feet have been trimmed but there are also scars all over her. She is very scared right now. As with all of our new arrivals we allow each horse to have as much time as they need to feel comfortable and when they are ready then they are started on their own personal plan for recovery. For Emily this may be a long road, but then again she may surprise us all and decide we are not so bad after all.
Update 10-6-2009
Emily is starting to come around. She still needs more work. We are trying to get a sponsor for her training, or someone to foster her and work with her.
If you are interested in either please contact me via email AmyLee991@yahoo.com
Update 3-27-10
Emily has been adopted by her foster mom along with Kali, she has made huge progress and we are so proud of her.
