Freckles

Freckles has been adopted by a wonderful new family that she will teach to ride.

Freckles came home with us in early 2009. My middle daughter, Shelby, had tried to ride several horses but just never had the confidence like her big sister. I was searching everywhere for a good match for her. And finally we found Freckles. She had belonged to a rancher in Archer Texas, she had lived with him for 11 years and had been very well taken care of. She worked the ranch with him and then his children would ride her all over. She was now 19 and a days work was just to much for her. He wanted a good home where she would be loved and continue to ride children around, which she loved.

Shelby and Freckles could not be more perfect for each other. Freckles is so calm and loving. She rides Shelby around until she knows she is comfortable and then she takes her just a little bit farther to build her confidence. In return, Shelby loves her unconditionally. They have started to playday together. Freckles had done a few playdays with her first children so she knew the patterns. She loped along slowly in the first few until she felt Shelby was ready and then she sped up to show Shelby that she could do it. They have been doing so well together and Shelby's confidence has grown more than I could have ever imagined.
