Mia

Mia is a wonderful little mare that came up from El Paso with Emily and Missy.  These girls where roped when they came across the Mexican border by the USDA in the U.S. and when not "claimed" sent to auction in El Paso, where their next step was to go back across the border for slaughter.  Reillys Ranch was notified and we went to the El Paso auction to bring these girls to safety. 

Mia is a very sweet little mare that has been handled.  She is halter broke and has had her feet trimmed.  We have not evaluated her riding yet as she still has her baby, Missy, on her.  When Missy is weaned we will see what other training Mia has had.

Update- 10-6-2009

Mia has been in the round pen and knows some basics.  We put a saddle on her and you could tell she had done that before. I got on her back and she was not sure what to do. She is very sweet and calm. It would not take long for someone to finish her training.
