After School Program

Where:  Reillys Ranch Horse Rescue and Rehab

When:  Mondays from 3:30 - ?

Who:  Abernathy Girls in Jr. High and High School

Cost:  Free

What you will need: 

• Long Pants
• Closed toed shoes (preferably Boots) no sandals
• Signed Parent Permission Slip

What we will be learning:

• Horse Safety
• Basics of Riding
• Horse Care and Handling
• Grooming
• Breeds
• Anatomy
• Tack
• Horse Communication
• How to Have Fun with Horses

Responsibilities will include:

• Feeding & Watering
• Cleaning Stalls
• Ranch Projects

This will be a wonderful and fun learning experience for the girls of Abernathy.  Horses can teach us so much about ourselves, relationships, communication, teamwork, and kindness.  It is our goal to help the girls realize the amazing way that horses communicate and trust.

We will be having a prayer before each lesson and it is our goal to have this program centered on God and focused around the horses.  God has blessed us with these amazing animals and it is our duty to take care of and love them.
